A marca superou o recorde anterior de 12,70 metros, registrado em 2023, e consolidou a estiagem de 2024 como a mais severa já observada no rio que banha a capital do Amazonas.

The Rio Negro reached, on Friday (4), the level of 12,66 meters in Manaus, its lowest point in 122 years of measurement, according to the Port of Manaus. The brand surpassed the previous record of 12.70 meters, registered in 2023, and consolidated the drought of 2024 as the most severe ever observed in the river that bathes the capital of Amazonas.
